New year, new book | Best “New” African Poets 2015 Anthology

Hey readers,

There’s an exciting new book out called the Best “New” African Poets 2015 Anthology which is by Tendai R. Mwanaka (Editor) and Daniel da Purifacacao (Editor) with a contribution from one of our very own University of Nottingham students, Osita Kabba! The anthropology consists of 214 poems by 79 poets from over 23 African countries and the Diaspora, each delving into a huge variety of topics from corruption and exile to love.

You can purchase the book from Amazon or from the African Books Collective website here.

Please share and support the work of our fellow students and Happy New Year to you all!

The Great Debate Tour 2015 | Nottingham (UoN x NTU) edition

The Great Debate Tour came back to Nottingham and this year we collaborated with Nottingham Trent for an interesting night of debating! There were some really exciting topics ranging from education to “black music” to politics and voting patterns.

Photography by Lola (Creative Director).

It was an incredible evening of discussion, banter and a touch of controversy and we hope you all took something from it. We’d like to say a huge thank you to The Great Debate team and panellists for coming down and hosting an amazing event with us.
