Charity Sports Day 2016

After such an amazing, spectacular, golden, memorable evening at Cultural Ball, we want you guys to get ready for Sports Day which is TOMORROW! We’re going to be having loads of fun in the sun whilst giving back to charity. Please see the poster below for more info.

As stated we would appreciate a small donation of £1 for participants and £2 for those coming to watch. It’s going to be a fun day and the weather forecasts are looking good!

All the money we raise will go to Project Bathurst, a charity founded by a former University of Nottingham student, Sam Tee, and his father. Project Bathurst is a registered charity created to alleviate the terrible impact Ebola has had on the small village of Bathurst, Sierra Leone. They aim to build a primary school, secondary school and medical centre as well as an adult training centre so please come down and support.

Your chance to be on TV! | Back In Time for Brixton

Good evening everyone,

We’ve been contacted by a Casting Researcher at Wall to Wall Media (he makers of Who Do You Think You Are? and Long Lost Family) who would like to share the following opportunity with you all.

They are looking for a Caribbean family to explore Black British history and its cultural and social influence on British popular culture in a brand new BBC 2 show ‘Back in Time for Brixton’. One adventurous family will be fast-forwarded through 60 years of history, with no mobiles and roughly the same amount of money and possessions that their ancestors brought with them on arrival. Please see the flyer below for more information and please note, participants do not need to be Brixton residents..

If there are any Caribbean families interested in being considered please get in touch asap. Contact Yemi Oyefuwa via or 0203 301 8465.

The Autumn Semester finale | Boat Party – Masquerade Edition

To end what has been an amazing term, we gave you unlimited drinks, a lovely meal and sets from the two most popular DJs in town, DJ Mykz and DJ Reeepa. For those who did attend, I think we can say it ended the term quite perfectly. Everyone was dressed to impress and ready to have a good time and that’s exactly what we did! If you weren’t there you really did miss out but here are some pictures from the night so you can see how much we enjoyed…

Thank you for making this event the success that it was and we’re really excited to see you all in the New Year. Have a good one and please drink responsibly!

Notts ACS Wild ‘n’ Out

So last semester we wanted to do something different and decided to host a Notts ACS Wild n Out special! It truly was a night full of banter and lyrical genius and we played some of the most popular games including Remix, Plead the Fifth, and the bonus game, Wildstyle. And let’s just say the last few games have pictures which speak for themselves…

Ofcourse, there were two teams (Freshers vs Returners) but there could only be ONE winner and the Freshers came out on top! Well done to them for bringing bags of enthusiasm and the hardest bars to the stage.
